GOT HEART

Project 1

Project Title: Watch a Movie, Save a Kidney: A Fundraising Project

Project Description: JCI Metro Cebu Uptown organized the Watch a Movie, save a Kidney project last December 17, 2022, at SM Seaside Cinema, just in time for the spirit of giving in the yuletide season. Around 300 moviegoers supported the project with a cause. They had a blast and witnessed the new clans and cultures of Pandora in the long-awaited sequel to Avatar: the way of the Water. Last December 22, 2022, JCI MCU headed to Chong Hua Hospital, Fuente, Cebu City to turn over the proceeds for the beneficiaries of the project at the Nephrology section. The amount will mean a lot to the Charity patients of Chong Hua who are currently having Dialysis sessions in the institution. Kidney diseases affect a growing number of individuals worldwide and it has caused personal and economic impacts on them and to the families of those patients who are undergoing dialysis treatment. A large proportion of the impact is due to healthcare costs for managing the diseases and other related expenses such as food and maintenance medicine; there is also a loss of productivity attributed to the disease condition. JCI Metro Cebu Uptown is more than grateful to everyone who has supported this fundraising project for the benefit of Chong Hua Hospital, Section of Nephrology Charity Patients.
